Public Education Grants
Over the past five years, the Community Involvement Program (CIP) has been developing and coordinating collaborative organizations composed of community-based groups organizing for school reform in New York City. These include the Community Collaborative to Improve Bronx Schools (CCB), Brooklyn-Queens for Education (BQ4E), the Brooklyn Education Collaborative (BEC) and the Urban Youth Collaborative (UYC). Hazen’s one year grant of $75,000 will support CCB, BQ4E and UYC and will assist CIP in developing a citywide coalition bringing together the regional collaboratives to build power and pursue a shared agenda for systemic reform.
